DISHWASHER
Summary and Purpose The dishwasher position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility. Education and Experience Requirements 1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 2. Experience working in commercial kitchen preferred. Essential Duties: 1. Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine. 2. Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering. 3. Change dishwater in dish machine as directed. 4. Wash pots, pans and trays by hand. 5. Remove trash and garbage to dumpster. 6. Set up or break down dishwashing area. 7. Clean and roll/unroll mats. 8. Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions. 9. Sweep/mop floors. 10. Assemble/disassemble dish machine. 11. Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster. 12. Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed. 13. Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry. 14. Notify manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures. 15. Do not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first. 16. Other duties as directed. Performance Expectations and Standards The employee shall perform his/her duties using standard levels of productivity and dependability, ensuring completion in a timely and zero-defect manner. He/she must portray a clean, neat, well-groomed professional appearance. Job requires company-approved attire with identification badge in sight. Must be honest, trustworthy, enthusiastic, and team/project oriented. This position has no authority that is not specifically delegated from the Supervisors. He/she must be customer service oriented and genuinely support and promote good resident/tenant relations and service. The employee must have the ability to work independently, a willingness to learn, and good communication skills and be willing to participate fully in staff meetings and designated training programs. Physical/Mental Requirements The position requires the following physical and mental capabilities to be performed: Constantly (66% to 100% of the time) Being on foot, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, pushing or pulling, reaching above shoulder height, grasping, gripping, turning, lifting and carrying 1-25 lb. items, performing general and detail observation, working at above ground height, using finger dexterity, properly operating equipment or tools, following instructions, reading and/or comprehending manufacturer's and product label directions, interpreting a variety of written and/or oral instructions, communicating effectively with other staff members, working indoors, and using adequate vision and mobility. Frequently (33% to 66% of the time) Writing to complete reports and service requests, working outdoors in all conditions, observing things clearly beyond an arm's reach, lifting and carrying of items weighing 25-75lbs., and driving vehicles. Occasionally (1% to 33% of the time) Lifting and carrying (with assistance) items weighing 75-150 lbs. Regular attendance is mandatory and must follow all work safety programs.
