Job Title: Service Sales Manager
Reports to: President, Corporate Mechanical
Location: Woburn, MA (local travel required)
This position exists to retain the existing and grow the new Service Customer Base. The Service Sales Manager will identify target markets and new customer segments to develop a strategy to grow the service business at Corporate Mechanical of New England. Initially, this individual will be the direct point of contact with customers and as the business grows, h/she will develop and manage a sales team. S/he will be responsible for meeting profit goals and identifying potential barriers to these goals. The Service Sales Manager will maintain a close working relationship with the company executive managers and keep the executive team aware of major business issues, seeking advice and guidance when appropriate.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare annual business plans for the service group that includes objectives for revenue, profit and ROI as well as action plans to achieve these objectives.
- Work closely with service technicians to assure customer satisfaction. Collaborate with company management team for operational support.
- Maximize the potential of the existing customer base by implementing strategies to increase sales per customer, leveraging all margin improvement opportunities and implementing effective customer retention plans.
- Add to company sales capability by targeting accounts and hiring, training and managing high performing sales personnel as revenue increases. Ensure compliance with policies and work rules; take timely and appropriate steps to correct behavior and performance problems.
- Develop and maintain a service offering strategy that meets current customer needs and contributes to positive trends in sales and gross margin -- seek additional service offerings that will increase sales and profit.
- Establish and enforce credit policies to minimize bad debt expense and maximize cash flow to the company.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related subject; or relevant field and/or professional experience.
- 2+ years management experience, preferably in the HVAC or Plumbing environment, with profit and loss accountability
- 5+ years demonstrated successful outside sales experience
- Ability to comprehend and interpret financial reports and data
- Ability to manage existing customer accounts and develop new accounts
- Strong computer skills and demonstrated ability to apply computer technology to business processes; working knowledge of the Sage 300 Service Module system preferred
- Experience working with Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel locally up to 50%, with occasional overnight air travel
