We are seeking Bell Valet Attendants to join our award-winning team.
Our Bell Valet Attendants greet our guests with gracious hospitality. They embody the Woodside Spirit and set the tone for the perfect arrival experience by following all of our service standards and engaging warmly with our guests and visitors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Adheres to the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Bell-Valet Department’s high standards of customer service while standing behind the Bell Desk and while moving to various hotel locations as needed. Handles all hospitality transactions while standing and using continuous mobility throughout the front office and other service areas.

Consistently greets guests in a friendly and professional manner.

Assists guests with luggage to and from rooms.

Stands and moves throughout the bell desk and lobby areas to continuously perform the essential functions of the position.

Following correct protocol stores and retrieves keys and moves guest vehicles.

Recommends Monterey Plaza food & beverage outlets, Vista Blue Spa and other hotel facilities.

Assists guests by giving directions, storing luggage, mailing packages, room moves and room shows, and performing other similar such service requests.

Keeps bell carts and back storage areas clean.

Maintains closet area, including doors.

Sets up and takes down coffee breaks.

Gathers and distributes guest mail and information to meeting rooms, registration desks, and guest rooms.

Provides shuttle service to hotel guests on an on-call basis.

Keeps main lobby picked up, organized, and dispenses of trash.

Keeps upper plaza area picked up and organized.
-
Works cooperatively with all hotel departments. In particular, with the valet, front desk and concierge department to ensure seamless service to the guests.

Contributes to a safe work environment reporting and acting on any unsafe conditions.

Maintains equipment in like new condition. Follows all procedures for equipment use and maintenance. Reports any equipment issues to management or engineering.

Follows and adheres to department policies, procedures and standards.

Offers assistance to all guests who might need it in a warm and friendly manner.

Posts up at bell desk to anticipate guests who may be checking in or out.

Stores luggage and fills out claim tickets completely.

Shines bell carts whenever working a scheduled shift.

Keeps bell closets clean and neat at all times.

Sets up and tears down coffee break and keeps it clean.

Takes baggage to and from guest rooms.

Responds to guest requests for directions and recommendations. Recommends hotel food & beverage outlets and the Vista Blue Spa first.

Passes on information to other departments whenever necessary.

Collects and distributes keys according to established protocol.

Actively promotes hotel outlets and amenities.

Moves and parks guest vehicles as required.

Drives the hotel van on an as needed basis if registered as an authorized driver under the DMV Pull Notice Program administered by the hotel.

Maintains the entire upper lobby in an impeccable manner.

Assists Front Desk and Concierge on an as needed basis.
All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel.
Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the Hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the Hotel facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma is preferred. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. Prior Hospitality experience is preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid California Drivers license and a good driving record.

PAY SCALE
The pay scale for this position is $15.50 per hour plus gratuities.
