Job Description
We are looking for Wilderness Trip Instructors for the summer season! Our 1 and 2 week backcountry canoeing and backpacking expeditions for ages 11-17 develop leadership in youth while exploring the forests and rivers of the South Jersey Pinelands and the Delaware Water Gap. Candidates who have experience working with youth and/or leading wilderness programs are preferred, but we are willing to teach the necessary skills to those new to the field. Must be dedicated and passionate about working with young people, and have the commitment and ability to create an inclusive atmosphere for all people in the outdoors. Must be 21 years of age by time of employment. Competitive per diem compensation, depending on experience. Housing and meals are provided while both on trail and off. All training is paid, and opportunities to earn certifications in Wilderness First Aid and Lifeguarding, and training in backcountry skills and outdoor leadership development curriculum is provided.
