Description:
Job Summary: Serves patients by preparing specimens for laboratory testing; performing screening procedures.
Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with the Client-
Verifies patient by reading patient identification.

Maintains professional and friendly attitude with Client representatives and patients

Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and fingersticks.

Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique and following department procedures; observing isolation procedures.

Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining daily tallies of collections performed.

Transports, or arranges transportation of specimens to the Ammon Laboratory according to client specification and industry standards

Maintains quality results by following department procedures and testing schedule;

Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

Enhances phlebotomy department and laboratory reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
Requirements:
Educational and Experiential Background:

Minimum (6) Months experience
-
Phlebotomy Certification REQUIRED

Legible handwriting required
-
Must have valid driver’s license, travel to client locations is required for the position

Bilingual a plus!

High School Diploma or Equivalent
