Job Summary
To assure that Clients who are functionally limited in performing ADLs receive the highest quality
in - home technical care possible by ensuring that the necessary services are delivered by qualified health care providers thus promoting Client satisfaction , safety and well-being and prevents institutionalization.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assists the physician in evaluating patients by applying diagnostic and prognostic muscle, joint and function ability tests.
- Treats and consults with the use of purposeful activity with individuals who are limited by physical injury or illness, developmental or learning disabilities, or the aging process in order to maximize independence, prevent disability and maintain health.
- Instruct client and/or organize in use of and care of medical equipment.
- Evaluate home environment to eliminate structural barriers and improve safty.
- Establish and upgrade home program by instructing client/caregiver to improve client's functional level.
- Observes, records, reports to physician patient's reaction to treatment and changes in condition.
- Prepares clinical and progress notes and submits them to the office in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Skills
Must be currently licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Texas. One year of experience in occupational therapy care setting that requires complete occupational therapy assessments or demonstrated ability or education on same area is preferred. Possess a high degree of integrity and motivation toward professional growth. Able to read, write and comprehend English. Bilingual preferred. Vietnamese/ Spanish is a plus.
