Overview:
RES is currently accepting applications for the position of a Construction Project Manager based out of the Yreka, CA or Ashland, OR area.
The mission: be part of an epic project!
RES is leading a massive restoration effort integral to the largest dam removal and river renewal project in US history – a task vital to the future of several imperiled salmon populations on the West Coast. The Klamath River and its tributaries were once home to the third-largest salmon population in the West, but those numbers have crashed to an alarming level. A major ecological restoration project will follow the removal of four aging dams that have cut off access to more than 400 stream miles of historical salmon and steelhead habitat. The world is watching, with major media outlets like the BBC and National Geographic already covering this critical project.
You will be part of the highly-cohesive team that values commitment to quality management, continuous improvement, initiative and problem-solving skills, and client satisfaction. Ability to communicate and coordinate within multi-disciplinary teams will ensure your success.
What your day-to-day might look like?:
This position will report daily to the Klamath Field Office or Lower Klamath Project.
Note that the work is done in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking, or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions. Sometimes, you will be required to operate ATVs, tractors, skid steers, and trucks with trailers, during your field inspections. Sometimes, travel and work outside normal office hours will also be required.
Your work will be split into the following activities:
Preparation and administration of the projects – you will be bidding and estimating, and prior experience with construction estimating and software such as Heavy Bid or Bid to Win will support your application. You will also review project budgets with Project Director and Project Manager.
Design and Engineering – you will be reviewing and evaluating construction plans and drawings, during the design process, participating in value engineering activities with the design team; and then implementing the plans and field-fit modifications to design drawings.
Subcontractors and personnel – you will staff for your projects and procure materials and equipment. Previous experience coordinating and supervising subcontractors and field employees is a must since you will be supervising large teams. You will ensure accurate timekeeping and address health and safety issues and oversee and manage the performance of subcontractors.
