Seeking a highly experienced Seasonal Retail Store Manager and Lead Sales Representative.
Poupette St Barth is hiring now for two roles:
- Store Manager: full-time employment term running May 1, 2023 - October 1, 2023.
- Senior Sales Associate: full-time employment term running May 15, 2023 - September 4, 2023.

Poupette St. Barth is a French luxury resort-wear brand created in 1995 by Poupette, herself, on the iconic French Caribbean island of St Barth. Her purpose has been to bring her dream wardrobe to life so she could share it with other women. A full collection of resort-wear clothing for women and girls tailored for warm weather climates. Each piece is designed in Paris and hand-made from start to finish in Bali. The collections showcase Poupette’s designs of unique prints and iconic bright colors. Fun and flirty dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, shorts, and more! Adding to the assortment are beautiful French-designed jewelry and accessories by chic designers complimenting Poupette’s clothing. Who we are looking for:
- We are looking for highly experienced retail sales professionals ready to provide excellent customer service and meet sales quotas for our business.
- Candidates with strong communication skills who are warm and friendly and can easily make our customers feel welcome in our store will stand out.
- Strong writing and typing skills are required for communicating with clients via email and messaging.
- High school graduates, college students, and college graduates who are well-rounded, organized, and professional are preferred.
- A strong candidate will be enthusiastic about fashion, seasoned in the luxury fashion retail sales industry, and has a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
- Prior experience of working with a POS and strong knowledge and in-depth computer skills, utilizing Microsoft Office with a focus on Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Bilingual speaking is a plus.
- Being open to learning new skills and training is a plus.
- Availability as the position requests are important for this role. Weekends and holidays are required.
- Comfortable lifting boxes, climbing a step ladder, and working alone from time to time are required.
- Proven experience of a minimum of 2 years of a similar role with another luxury brand experience is highly preferred.
About the role:
Poupette St Barth employees are the face of our brand. Summer in the Hamptons brings an influx of seemingly all the luxury clients from around the world within 4 months. Employees will run and manage all facets of a face-paced but luxury boutique, its products, and its clients, including but not limited to; daily operations, clienteling, visual merchandising, receiving products, back-stocking, organizing, and cleaning, selling, upselling, cross-selling, meeting and exceeding sales goals and KPIs, holding special appointments, reporting key market dynamics and special events to management, emailing and reporting. Our employees are enthusiastic about women's resort wear, seasoned in luxury fashion, and merchandising, business-minded, and driven by meeting and exceeding their goals. Our team is made of three employees who all work together to achieve the seasonal goal of the boutique. Each employee plays a key role in making that happen! Full-time attendance is essential for this role. Employees are enthusiastic about hard work and enjoy being in the hustle and bustle of a busy, but luxury retail store. They enjoy making clients happy while selling quality products. Our employees work well under pressure and enjoy a challenge. Ultimately, they all play a major role in the profitability of the store!
Job Requirements
- Proficient in verbal and written English language
- Strong skills in the textiles/fashion industry, market dynamics, and our competitors
- Strong sense of fashion merchandising, selling, and working with high-end clients
- Proven track record of selling in a fast-paced high-end environment
- Meeting or exceeding sales quotes and KPIs
- General Retail Knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate
- Modern computer knowledge (PC, MS Word, MS Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Gmail) is required
- 2 or more years of experience in a similar role
- High-end retail brand experience is highly preferred; required for Store Manager and Assistant Manager roles.
- College-level experience preferred
- Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
- Flexibility to work in either East Hampton or Southampton boutique is a plus
- Ability to move and lift heavy boxes from time to time
- Standing and moving around for long periods
