Job Description:
This position is for a Chrome Plating facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to wet and humid conditions, fumes, and airborne particles, toxic and caustic chemicals, and extreme heat.
Role and Responsibilities - Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Do all chemical analysis on the plating line.
- Record and document all analysis.
- Change filters.
- Make chemical add to plating process tanks when required.
- Run plating hull cells.
- Take inventory of lab chemicals.
- Tank maintenance on tanks after production.
- Assist in the removal of all hazardous waste at the Beck Rd. facility,
- Other duties as assigned.
Skill and Education requirements:
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma, GED or 1yr on-the-job training.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, speak, write and comprehend English efficiently.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, flow rates, and volume. Ability to apply basic algebra. Ability to read conversion charts.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.
Necessary Attributes:
- Learns and retains new information faster than most
- Consistently meets and exceeds expectations
- Must be able to obtain a forklift license
- Must be able to complete a hazardous waste training class
- Sit, stand, walk, crawl, climb ladders, stairs, kneel, crouch, and lift 50lbs.
