Position: CMA/Certified Medical Assistant – Oncology Cancer Center - Days
Schedule: 8am – 4:30pm (Monday thru Friday)
Location: University Kansas Health System – Main Campus

Responsibilities
Working under the supervision of the physicians and Clinic Supervisor, the Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting nursing staff and providers with patient care and other duties associated with efficient running of the clinic.
Physicians are assisted with exams. Special procedures are administered according to clinic policies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Clearly communicates, both orally and in writing, to foster staff and patient understanding of treatment plan.
Provides quality customer service to patients, families, co-workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to create a professional and respectful environment.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
Graduate from certified medical assistant school program.
Registered with an accredited agency for Medical Assistants.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Work experience in a comparable health care setting is preferred.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to learn to perform direct patient care, basic nursing procedures.
Ability to interpret and communicate data relevant to patients’ needs and responses to care.
