Responsibilities
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs routine and special laboratory procedures; quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation. Participates in the Performance Improvement and Assurance process. Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Perform all necessary functions and maintains documentation to ensure timely, accurate results of laboratory procedures

Ensure specimens are obtained and processed in accordance with laboratory guidelines to provide accurate results

Demonstrate proper communication skills to ensure positive outcomes

Supports organizational priorities to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards

Demonstrate problem-solving skills to support positive outcomes
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a Chemical, Physical or Biological Science from an accredited institution or Baccalaureate degree with 16 hours in Biological Science, 16 hours in Chemistry and 3 hours in Mathematics, in lieu of degree, medical technology certification (HEW or CLA) under "grandfather" clause.

Licensed by the American Society of Clinical Pathology or equivalent as a Medical Technologist. Registered by the ASCP within 6 months of employment into this position.

Associate's Degree in Medical Technology
