Job Description
Location: Chesterfield, VA. Women's CCAP
Pay rate: $24.038/per hour ($50,000 annually)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours. Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.
Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent license/certification are eligible for a salary up to a maximum of $58,000.
The Counselor is responsible for:
- Serving as a role model and engineer of a social learning treatment milieu.
- The provision of counseling services to include group programming and meetings, individual counseling, case management services, and clinical documentation.
- Working closely with Virginia Department of Corrections personnel to ensure quality services and promoting a healing environment where people with substance use disorders can learn to live in recovery as returning citizens.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field or equivalent experience is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required within two (2) years of signing job description.
- Experience working in Therapeutic Community model programs is a plus.
- Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
- Must provide proof of COVID vaccination or, as an alternative, appropriate documentation that will support either a medical or religious exemption.
